HERE IS A DIARY PAGE BY NATASHA AND ENGLISH GIRL WHO STAYED AT MYELLA FOR A DAY TRIP.  Please note not all guests get cattle work.

Up at 5 today to do my Myella Farm stay, got picked up at 6:30am with a couple of other girls for the 1 1/2 hour drive inland to Myella Farm, the journey was beautiful - rugged mountains and a spectacular sunrise! At the farm I was the only 'day tripper' everyone else was staying long term.  Had breakfast over a camp oven, then to the stables ready for a ride - I was late (as usual) and they gave me the biggest thing I have ever seen - certainly the biggest horse I have ever ridden - he was beautiful tho - a thoroughbred called Doodle - I was really scared and couldn't figure out why I had the biggest horse when I am so little but he ended up being a gentle giant - really slow and just plodded along - which was fine by me. Well it wasn't an ordinary horse ride - we went cattle mustering - basically rounding up about 70 cattle, counting them and walking them 4km to the farm ready for inspection, it was really hands-on which was great although I was a little scared Doodle might rear up and throw me under them, but he was as good as gold, all went well except for one scary moment when all the cattle spun around and started coming straight toward me (i was at the back of the herd) but we managed to turn them round and keep them on course. Afterwards we had some rather tasty beef for lunch (which I have the feeling had been roaming the farm the day earlier) and played with the 2 baby joeys they have there that they rescued from road kills - soo cute! Then motor biking! I am not a natural biker - the bike was too big for me and I could not fathom out the gears for ages, I was ready to wuss out but the farmer took me round the track a few times till I got the hang of it - then they let me out on the road with everyone else - good fun - in fact I actually got told off for speeding on it! Then before I knew it it was time for my free lift back to Rocky. Would of loved to stay longer people were really friendly and it was a real experience. Got to get the night bus to Airlie Beach tonight. Fun.
